Nara Street Meeting -Hari Terrace- Part 2

Finally I had sometime for spending free in the blog. There was still in the to do list to post the second part of the Nara Street Car Meeting. Here there are a series of around 30 photos. I also have to say that unfortunately I couldn’t took pictures of all the noticeable cars on during the night as Hari Terrace HRS counted more than 500 cars in the meeting. So this is just a sample of what can you spot in the Kansai area.

As the main intention of the meeting was to mix all car styles. The were some real JDM tuners that showed up for fun night as this DC2.

If you are used to read in blogs or even here, the main focus of tuners now is on the USDM scene so there were many example of this trend. But also notice that it maybe a kind of evolution of the traditional USDM with a Japanese taste. Continue reading Nara Street Meeting -Hari Terrace- Part 2

Nara Street Meeting -Hari Terrace- Part 1

The past Saturday I decided to head road to Nara to reach the Hari Inter parking which is located around 20 kilometers away of the city full of temples and bamboo’s. The trip from Kyoto takes around one hour and a half so I couldn’t miss the chance.

When I reached the place I was very surprised, the parking was full, full of awesome cars of all kind of styles. Maybe the most popular now is the USDM but is very common to spot real JDM cars and classics at any meeting. And as read in the Hari TRS webpage there were a total amount of 510 cars from 9pm to 1am approximately.

I couldn’t even be able to take pictures of all the cars that called my attention during the night but will make a couple of post to post as many photos as I will be able to do.

Here to start.

Player’s Night. Meeting.

Last Saturday we have such a great night. I attended my first meeting in the city. It wasn’t easy to find the place but finally we manage thanks to Shota. I couple of calls solve my problem. There were a bunch of well done car as Japan used to be. Maybe due to some other meeting celebrated in Osaka this one was that big. But people of Kyoto is so friendly and the have so good taste for cars.

That time when the JDM was a must is now like the old days, the Hawaii USDM style is on its maximum explosion and super fitting wheels are all around.

A was looking that DC2 for longtime, so clean and simple, specially being yellow.

Of course the JDM is not forgotten in Japan, for classic cars like this Hakosuka is the best way to suit your car. Watanabes are best choice for this cars.

I was surprised to found at 3 Hakosuka’s in the meeting, normally you don’t use to find them in the street, but owners know when to enjoy the cars.

Lots of Civic’s. Civic is still one of the most popular cars in the country despite the prices they are reaching. Specially for the SIR versions.

This Spoon livered Civic takes most of the people attention, maybe because the livery but I think it remembers to the Gran Turismo a lot. Probably one of my favorites in the meeting.

I just wish you could hear that kenmeri, both idling and running, probably one of the best kenmeri’s in the area.

This EK9 was on the way to being transformed into a USDM version of the Civic, still some work to do but he almost has it.

USDM is all over the Kansai area and Civic’s are best choice to turn your daily into a nice car. Tow hook’s, american plate holders and rear window stickers are a must lately.

Now I just can wait until next month for the next meeting to see how’s up for having a good time. Enjoying with your friends and family no matter what time is it.

Rice, JDM and Hellaflushers…

Yesterday in my way to home after leave the job I was thinking in this last 10 years. I remember when we used to like F&F spending our time getting photos from Hot Import Nights, and cars with big vinyls and funny spoilers.

Later on, starts the “JDM” movement. Yes, is not true, is USDM movement. USDM movement is complete different than JDM. Only cars from japan as you well know are JDM, the style of that cars is completly different, is just a car for racing.

Most of USDM cars or even EDM cars you can find in Europe and US are not JDM cars, don’t get confused yourself. USDM is about fit brands, brands and more brands. Takata, Recaro, Spoon and company. No matter if something is better or worst. Is not about to find the more effective way to win.

Notice than even today, red rims with chrome lip are ricers

Right now this tendency are being forgotten. Not 100% of course but they don’t have the same big scene than before when everything was JDM.

Now everything is about the stance and the wheel fitment. This style is getting call Hellaflush like you are reading most of people saying “Oh, so hellaflush!!”

I’m not against the hellaflush style, I love it, I really do. But for me, and I hope i’m wrong hellaflushers is gonna be after or before like now we are watching the “ricers days”.

I want to be wrong belive it for sure. Because I love this tendency, people is getting mad with wheel fitment, stickers, roof racks, wonderful body colours… and each day better cars are showing up.

But JDM, the real JDM always gonna be there. This is not a tendency. Is about to get a simple, fast, and ready to race car.

So lets see what we have for next years.
