When we all think in race cars, probably everything that came to our minds are Civic, Silvia’s, Skyline, Supras… or in the case you are an Euro fan, the real popular Clio Sport and specially for European followers.
But Japan has a really open mind when talking about races, and they do races whatever that has 2 or 4 wheels, and I am probably thinking that even more wheels are allowed when talking about racing in Japan.
For me, one of the most interesting races are the Kei Truck Championship, these consist in all kind of Kei Truck’s, open or closed all around Japan. As always some basic modifications for widely open fun. Always is the same recipe, good suspensions, good wheels and probably some exhaust and intake modifications and drive.
These Kei Truck are daily driven so they keep license plates. Street legal tires and most of them of course Air Conditioning and power windows.
Now sit down and enjoy races.
Lubross Oil and GT Produce are supporting this race series and if you would like to find more info have yourself a website check. Note that these website are in Japanese but you can always use Google translate to view them.
On board in an Alfa Romeo 2000 GTV at Ebisu Circuit. Classic cars are just about feeling and pure driving. No helps, no super technology added. Carburetors and small tires for real feeling.
This is a new post of the Race in… series. This time onboard in an old Zetto. I like old school sound…please enjoy it.
Another amateur race, this time onboard in a Nissan Silvia S15. At Maze Circuit, sure you remember it from some battle of Best Motoring in the past years when it had glory. This is an old video so quality is not very good, but anyway those videos are for enjoying driving and JDM cars battling.
Notice how the AE86 sounds!
I am starting loving these amateur videos of racing. Specially when not using top range versions of models. Here is an R34 GT-T pursuing a BCNR33.
Sometimes you read in the internet some stupid comments as Honda are for kids or things like that. Well I don’t believe in that. You know here we are really lovers of Nissan’s but first of all we do respect cars, and its owners. This I think is more like a kanjo racer car against some powerful cars. Specially hard to beat the new GTR. But OMG this even if the GTR driver isn’t the fastest man in world this is very impressive and difficult to understand.
I think will be good to start a new section here in the blog. Specially to see how cars in amateurs hand can be handle.
To start I decided to go with an ECR33. R33 RB25DET. As the R33 is the no most popular Skyline I think is a good way to start. Notice the car leading is the old DR30 Skyline which is very very fast.
