Following the ancestors of Mark II, the first generation was the Corona Mark II, which was released in 1968 as an advanced version of the Corona. The name of “Corona” disappeared from this 5th generation and it became “Mark II”. Sold in 1984 and won the 1985 Good Design Award.

At the time of its release, the combination of white body color and high owner saloon was a trend, and Mark II was the center of attention in the city. The office worker wanted to own a high-owner saloon, and the age of Mark II was built.

It had a sashless 4-door hardtop body that emphasized design, and the C pillar was treated with a blackout resin treatment called “Crystal Pillar”.

In 1985, the “GT-Twin Turbo” equipped with a 2.0L in-line 6-cylinder twin cam twin turbo engine was added. There is also a 5-speed MT setting, which became a hot topic.
